Analysis The Music Review: Phyno – Never

Phyno went different on this track, as he gave us a different side fans are not used to. Phyno didn’t do his core rap on this track, he went soft and gave us a lover boy side of himself.

The song starts with a slow keyboard. string background play, with a smooth beat. His voice came up and there, Phyno was singing not raping.

In the song he talks about the feelings he has for his girl, he talks about loving the girl and making sure every thing is fine always, so they can be together forever. Phyno also talks about letting the world knows about his love for his girl.

He continuously professes his love to her and promise they will be together forever. Fans are not used to Phyno singing love songs but rapping. Many fans have therefore shown their displeasure on the song, stating that they love him better when he raps that try singing.

With only few hours of it release, the song has garnered massive buzz online. It has thousands of streams and download from online music streaming platform. It has also started getting massive airplay on radio stations. This comes as no surprise, it is Phyno, tho not a rap song, fans still love him.

Final Thought:

In my opinion Phyno would have continued with his rap but trying to do a love song, I don’t see him doing well. Therefore on a scale of 1 to 10, I’d give the song an 8.

The reason for the mark, is because even though he didn’t rap, his vocals were on point along with the lyrics of the song. Phyno may have switched from rapping to singing but on this track, it wasn’t really disappointing.
