Music Review: Tekno PuTTin

Nigeria and award winning singer, Tekno recently came out with a brand new song titled “Putin”. The song was produced by spax. The video of the song was shot by TG Omori. Tekno has been silent in the music industry for a while now. The superstar is only collaborating with other artist. 

Tekno was reported to have lost his voice earlier this year and therefore had to seek medical attention. He was flown abroad for medical treatment. The singer left his fans on hedge as many were worried about the singers health. 

After some months, the “pana” crooner came back to Nigeria but still didn’t immediately get to the studio. He took some time to make sure he was really fit to go back to music.

After some months, Tekno started singing again and was also on a lot of collaboration with both upcoming and top artists. He came out with the single ‘Beh Beh‘ featuring Masterkraft in February and releasing two tracks; ‘Kata‘ & ‘Sudden‘ in April.

Before the release of patient Tekno did a song called “sudden” where he spends time talking about the state of the economy. He talks about how the average poor man in Nigeria suffers every day while our politician do away with millions of naira, money meant for the masses. The song was clearly one that gives hope to the hopeless in the country.

Discussing About The Music Review Tekno PuTTin

Prior to the release of the song PuTTin, Tekno had earlier released a series of short clips of what the song would be about to fans. Tekno has over the months been releasing videos on his social media pages of himself in the studio creating beats and cooking up some songs. Fans were so eager to hear what the star has for them, and eventually and finally Tekno released puTTin.

The songs starts on a low tempo, with a chilling rhythmic base line in the background. Tekno talks about him being a gentleman and not a gangster. He tells his lady that he is very good in putting it in. That’s some 18+ content right there. Lol… Tekno with the bang. The song continues with an Afrobeat rhythmic beat that you can’t resist but just groove along with. Tekno carefully crafted this song to be a party hit due to it rhythm. It also quite very calming and enjoyable at the same time.

The song gained massive airplay from top radio stations but in a way lacked the full ingredients of being a big time hit. Tekno honestly was just having fun and didn’t really put on his A game in making this song a hit as compared to his other songs. Tekno who was once signed by Ubi Franklin Made Men Music reveals that he would be forever grateful to the label for helping him out in the music industry.

Ever since leaving the record label, Tekno has gone on to be a big star in the music industry, releasing series of hits after hits, thereby Getty both wealth and fame he ever dreamt of having. Tekno career has taken a fine shape over the years as he do not only sing but also produces as well. Tekno also revealed that he learnt producing on his own at a very young age without depending on anyone. Therefore one of Tekno biggest song that he has produced was Davido “If”. 

Davido even recently praised Tekno for producing that song for him. He said Tekno gave him the biggest song of his life. Tekno continues to impress fans and music lovers worldwide with his melodious sounds and PuTTin is no difference. For me Tekno is a beast when it come to making Afrobeat songs and that is what he has shown with this song PuTTin. With Tekno voice on it, trust me it is a whole lot different vibe you will get. PuTTin is quite thrilling and with melodious instruments accompanying his vocals.

The video of the song saw “Tekno Puttin went” wild with his lyrics. With women with big ass dancing by his side while he sings. He talks also about money being on his mind always, and how he will keep on making money.

With just only days of it release, the song has garnered thousands of streams and downloads, not forgetting that the video has thousands of views on YouTube also. Tekno is an A list artist in this country and there’s no taking buzz about him. The song has gotten music lovers dancing. It is receiving lots of airplay from radio stations and has started being on top ten songs on major TV shows in the country.

The Rating Of The Song

In my opinion Tekno wasn’t at his A game with the lyrics of the songs. The last part of the lyrics heard Tekno literally speaking in tongues. I would rate the song a 7 out of 10. The beat was a chilling, his vocals were on point but the lyrics weren’t so great.
